Understanding Coffee Ratios

The ratio of coffee to water is one of the most important factors in brewing great coffee. It determines the strength and extraction of your final cup.

1:15 (Strong) Bold, intense flavor. Good for lighter roasts or those who prefer stronger coffee.
1:16 (Medium-Strong) Well-balanced with good body. Popular choice for most brewing methods.
1:17 (Medium) Smooth and approachable. Great for showcasing coffee's natural flavors.
1:18 (Mild) Light and clean. Perfect for delicate coffees or casual drinking.

Pro Tip: Start with 1:16 and adjust to taste. If your coffee tastes too weak, try 1:15. If it's too strong or bitter, try 1:17 or 1:18.
